Font, or Fount. A complete set of type of the same body and face with all the points, accents, figures, fractions, signs, etc., that ordinarily occur in the printed books and papers. A complete fount (wich includes italics) comprises over 200 separate pieces of type, without the special characters needen in almanacs, astronomical and medical works, etc. The word os French, fonte, from fondre (to melt or cast).
